Dear Parents, Players and fans of the Gatineau Vikings,
Once again, your Gatineau Vikings continue to be at the forefront of safety. To ensure the fullest protection of the players, the board of directors of the Minor Football Association de l’Outaouais, parent organization of the Vikings, has entered into a pilot agreement with the company to purchase Impakt Protectives’ ShockBox ® concussion sensors. All the helmets of Vikings Pee Wee level players will soon be equipped with sensors that send a signal to the team trainer when the helmet of a player receives a substantial impact. Thus any impact or concussion risk will be detected and will be followed-up from our trainers, all of whom received the necessary training. If this pilot project is positive, we proceed with the purchase of detectors for players at other levels.
Although we cannot eliminate all risk of injury, this demonstrates once again that we do everything we can to ensure the safety of players. No other team in the NCAFA or Subway league is utilizing this kind of technology. The health of your children is important to us.
Know when a hit is too hard. Using our heads with ShockBox ®!
And proud to be Vikings!
