Saints Outaouais Football

Greetings

Due to the unforeseen decline in registration numbers over the last 2 years, the board of directors of the Outaouais Minor Football Association (OMFA) has decided to suspend its affiliate club, Outaouais Saints, until registration numbers improve. The decline in registration for football as well as for other sport programs is a province wide problem, which hopefully will improve through hard work, education and dedication. As you may or may not know the Saints are a member of the parent organization AFMO. The Saints were created to allow more Outaouais kids to play competitive football as the number of spots on the Vikings teams were limited and the registration number increasing.

This decision of suspending the Saints for this season was not taken lightly. The executive had to make the best financial decision possible. As such, I would like to invite all Saints players, coaches, parents and friends to continue your football journey with the AFMO as a player for the Gatineau Vikings.

Registrations for the LFMO is now open. The Vikings Academy is welcoming experienced players who want to improve their football skills. Both start outside on April 11th. In addition, the selection camps for the Viking competitive teams for the fall season will be held in conjunction with the LFMO and Academy programs starting in June.

We will be fielding the following teams in 2014 were registration numbers warrant:

NCAFA Viking Tyke
NCAFA Viking Mosquito
MRFL Viking Mosquito
MRFL Viking Pee-Wee
QBFL Viking Bantam

In closing, I’d like to thank all those who played or worked behind the scenes to make the Outaouais Saints a reality. Players who have worn with pride the colors of the Saints, I thank you for your hard work and hope to see you on the field soon. I would also like to thank the parents who have encouraged their children and who have given their time to the success of the Saints. I would like to sincerely thank the founding team of Gary Barnes, Giovanni LaValle and Sylvain Schetagne for their dedication to the Saints and AFMO. I am very pleased to know that until registration numbers improve, they will be joining the ranks of the LFMO and the Vikings in pursuit of their continued commitment to youth, football, and the community.

If you have any questions or concerns in regards to this, please drop me a line, or feel free to talk to me in person around the field.
